The new and improved XT4 has a completely new interior and exterior design, with a more advanced design. The lights have a sharper design, and the vertical LED lamps give it a bold look. The biggest talking point about the interior is the large 33-inch curved LCD monitor with 9K resolution that takes up most of the instrument panel.
The X3, on the other hand, has been given a powerful appearance that looks as if it was carved from solid metal, and a lighting function called “Iconic Glow” has been added to the edge of the kidney grille. The driver’s seat is equipped with a curved LCD monitor that combines the meter and infotainment display, and combined with the ambient lighting, it has a different, more advanced feel than the XT4.
The X3 has grown in size, albeit slightly. Despite being slightly larger in dimensions and having a wheelbase 90mm longer than the XT4, the XT4 offers slightly more rear knee room. It also boasts the same cargo space as the X3.

The Cadillac XT4 has better powertrain specs

BMW X3
Both models are equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four turbo engine, but the XT4 has better specifications. The X3’s “20 xDrive” is equipped with a 2.0-liter inline-four turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 190 PS and a maximum torque of 310 Nm, and a motor that produces a maximum output of 11 PS and a maximum torque of 25 Nm, but this does not reach the engine output of the XT4.
The XT4’s transmission is a 9-speed automatic, one gear more than the X3. Combined with the weight difference of over 100 kg, it can be said that the XT4 offers more power in many situations.
However, the XT4 is a front-wheel drive (FF)-based AWD, while the X3 is a rear-wheel drive (FR)-based AWD, and differences in drivetrain and chassis settings mean that preferences for ride feel will differ. Although it is inferior in spec, the mild hybrid system added to the X3 is a major benefit, as it allows for smooth engine start-up from idle stop and effectively compensates for the poor acceleration caused by the heavier vehicle weight.
Cadillac XT4 SPORT
Engine type = Inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine
Displacement = 1997cc
Maximum output = 230PS/5000rpm
Maximum torque = 350Nm/1500-4000rpm

Drive system = AWD
BMW X3 20 xDrive xLine
Engine type = Inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine + motor
Displacement = 1998cc
Maximum engine output = 190PS/5000rpm
Maximum engine torque = 310Nm/1500-4000rpm
Transmission = 8-speed AT
Drive system = AWD
The price difference is small, but pay attention to the differences in equipment and functions.

BMW X3
The vehicle price for the XT4 is 7.9 million yen for the “SPORT” grade, which is in the same price range as the X3 “20 xDrive” at 8.08 million yen. However, the XT4 comes standard with electronically controlled dampers, which change the ride comfort and feel in conjunction with the drive mode.
The X3 also comes with a “My Mode” feature that allows you to change the drive mode and interior settings all at once, but the electronically controlled dampers are only available on the M50 xDrive (9.98 million yen). However, the X3 is more comprehensive in terms of driving assistance features, including traffic jam assistance with hands-off function and parking assist function on all models.
At the very least, it can be said that the XT4 is superior in terms of hardware specifications such as rear seat space and powertrain.
