The “TGR e-Motorsports Challenge League” is an e-sports tournament aimed at players participating in e-motorsports with the goal of becoming racing drivers. The qualifying rounds will be held in a time trial format, and the finals will be held in a race format. In addition, it provides an opportunity to try your hand at real motorsports, and aims to discover young talent who aspire to become racing drivers through karting competitions.
The qualifying round will be a time trial at Fuji Speedway using the “GR Supra Racing Concept ’18” in “Gran Turismo 7 (PS4/PS5).” The top 12 time trial competitors will compete in the offline “TGR e-Motorsports Challenge League Final” on October 5, 2025, at the Toyota Commemorative Museum of Industry and Technology in Aichi Prefecture. The winner will receive support such as items necessary to compete in the “SL Kart Meeting SS Class.”
TGR’s e-motorsports initiative is a rapidly expanding global e-sports category. Not only does it allow anyone to easily enjoy motorsports within a game, but because of its close affinity with real motorsports, racing drivers from e-motorsports are also active in real motorsports.
Events by JBL and TGR are also planned.
JBL, one of the world’s largest audio brands, originating in California, USA, has a history of nearly 80 years and has developed partnerships in a variety of fields, not only in music but also in movies, games, and sports.
JBL’s sponsorship of the “TGR e-Motorsports Challenge League” stems from its empathy for the future-oriented initiative of nurturing young racing drivers. JBL has a long history of supplying genuine audio systems to Toyota vehicles, and through this collaboration, the company aims to widely communicate the appeal of the “sound experience” in a real car to e-motorsports fans.
In the future, TGR and JBL will be holding promotional events and various campaigns within the e-motorsports environment, which combines the virtual and real worlds.
