In July 2025, Aston Martin will add the high-performance Vantage S, which is based on the two-seater sports car Vantage and features a special setting and an enhanced power unit. Prior to that, in May 2024, Porsche introduced the 992.2 model, a major update to the 911. The 911 Carrera GTS will be equipped with a T-Hybrid that combines a 3.6-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine with an electric turbo and electric motor.
The 911 GTS is equipped with a battery and motor for the hybrid system, yet its vehicle weight is 135 kg lighter than the Vantage S. In terms of body size, the 911 GTS is 60 mm longer than the Vantage S, but its overall width is 110 mm narrower and its overall height is 20 mm higher. Compared to the 911 GTS, it can be said that the Vantage S has a lower and wider stance.

The Vantage S is equipped with a Mercedes-AMG 4.0-liter V8 gasoline twin-turbo engine, with Aston Martin’s own unique touch. It produces a maximum output of 680 PS, 139 PS more than the Carrera GTS, which is equipped with Porsche’s all-out “T-Hybrid” system. While the 911 GTS is far ahead in terms of power, it takes advantage of its light weight and the linear power delivery of the motor to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h faster than the Vantage S by 0.5 seconds.

The Vantage S is based on the Vantage’s interior, which is characterized by British elegance, and incorporates details exclusive to the “S” model. The 911 GTS combines the design DNA inherited from previous 911 models with the latest technology. The familiar steep-sided center console is fitted with a 12.6-inch curved display.
Although there is a price difference of 5.51 million yen, compared to the simple 911 GTS, the Vantage S offers a high-quality, luxurious interior space that is typical of British cars, enveloping the driver and passengers. However, although the Vantage S is superior in terms of maximum power output and top speed, Porsche’s latest hybrid powertrain may be a reason to choose it in itself. Finally, while the Vantage S is only available as a 2-seater, the 911 GTS can also be chosen as a “2+2” seat at no extra charge.
