The BMW iX is a sustainable SAV (Sports Activity Vehicle) developed by BMW with an eye to the next generation. Its powertrain features an electric motor and a large lithium-ion battery, and made its debut in 2021. The Japanese market will see the introduction of the iX xDrive60 and the high-performance iX M70 xDrive. The iX xDrive60 has a driving range of 723km.

The iX xDrive60 is an AWD model equipped with an electric motor on the front axle that produces a maximum output of 258 PS (190 kW) and another on the rear axle that produces a maximum output of 313 PS (230 kW). The total system output is 544 PS (400 kW), maximum torque is 765 Nm, and it boasts an instantaneous 0-100 km/h time of 4.6 seconds.

The lithium-ion battery stored under the body floor has a capacity of 60.6Ah/111.5kWh, giving it a range of 723km on a single charge, the longest of any BMW model.

The performance iX M70 xDrive is an AWD model with a 258 PS (190 kW) electric motor driving the front axle and a 489 PS (360 kW) electric motor driving the rear axle. The total system output is 659 PS (485 kW) and maximum torque is 1,015 Nm (1,100 Nm with launch control activated).

It boasts a 0-100km/h time of just 3.8 seconds, and the lithium-ion battery under the body floor has a capacity of 60.6Ah/111.5kWh, giving it a range of 602km on a single charge.

The interior features M multifunction seats made of Veganza and high-quality microfiber material.

The interior design has been updated with new features, including an M Sport interior, seat materials, and newly designed M multifunction seats. The M multifunction seats use Veganza and high-quality microfiber materials and have enhanced side support, significantly improving the sense of support. This adds a sporty element to the iX’s futuristic cabin design.

Thanks to the architecture dedicated to the fully electric powertrain, the new iX has no center tunnel and a flat floor. In addition to the open interior space, the rear seats in particular are spacious and comfortable, providing a feeling of being in a high-quality lounge.
