Ferrari SC40
One-off model based on the 296 GTB

The Ferrari SC40 is based on the hybrid super sports car “296 GTB,” which is combined with an exterior inspired by the F40.
Ferrari’s “Special Projects” program creates one-off models with exclusive designs that meet customer requests. Each project begins with an idea from the customer, and is developed in close collaboration with the designers at the Ferrari Styling Center.
Designed by the Ferrari Styling Centre under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, the Ferrari SC40 is a mid-engine hybrid super sports car that inherits the architecture, chassis and powertrain of the 296 GTB. The name and exterior of the car are a homage to the F40, which debuted in July 1987.
The SC40’s special air intakes, carved into the sides of the fenders in three dimensions, are particularly reminiscent of the F40. The combination of sharp, angular lines and soft surfaces creates an exterior that exudes a powerful, unique identity and a modern feel.
Classic side NACA duct

The side sections feature classic NACA-shaped intercooler air intakes reminiscent of the F40.
The low-slung long nose is combined with a short rear overhang, a fixed rear wing, and the exclusive exterior color “SC40 White.” The fixed rear wing, reminiscent of the F40, rises vertically from the engine hood, integrating with the body’s side sections to create a beautiful flow.
A black separation line accentuates the black-finished rear fascia. The rear section features an open mesh structure, allowing the mechanical parts, including the power unit, to be seen from the outside. The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine is covered in smoked “LEXAN” polycarbonate, creating a visual connection to the lower air intake.
The side sections feature intercooler air intakes that are a reinterpretation of the classic NACA duct. The racy air intakes are accentuated by triangular carbon plates reminiscent of the F40. These designs also correspond to the sharp edges of the front fenders, door cuts, and engine hood.
The front section features headlights in black housings at the outer corners, which extend downwards and converge into lower air intakes that run the full width of the front bumper, with two frames framing the brake cooling intakes and daytime running lights above them.
Carbon Kevlar-filled interior

The interior also pays homage to the F40, with carbon-Kevlar materials used, and red jacquard technical fabric adding vibrant accents.
The cockpit also makes extensive use of carbon-Kevlar, a material inspired by the F40. Carbon-Kevlar was redeveloped specifically for this project and is used for the footwells, seat backs, and parts of the floor mats. It is also used on the steering wheel, parts of the dashboard, engine bay, and luggage compartment.
The interior trim combines charcoal Alcantara and red jacquard technical fabric. The headrests feature a prancing horse and a special “SC40” logo. The exterior color, “SC40 White,” was developed exclusively for this one-off model. The cool tone highlights the body’s beautiful surfaces in sunlight and creates an excellent combination with the color of the carbon-Kevlar used in the interior.
The exclusive “SC40” logo is only on the right side of the body, and the fuel cap and charging port are made of hairline-finished aluminum. The rear engine hood features “Ferrari” lettering with a crossed-out design, exposing the carbon fiber underneath. The wheels also have a special design, with diamond-cut and black spokes that emphasize their geometric shape.
The SC40 styling bag (full-scale model) will be on display at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello from October 18th.
