A major contributor to McLaren’s success

Tom Hartley Jr. has now announced that he has been officially appointed by the Ogier family to handle the sale of the collection of 20 McLaren road cars previously owned by Mansour Ogier. Following the successful sale of Bernie Ecclestone’s collection of 69 F1 cars earlier this year, the company has now been entrusted with the sale of this unique collection assembled by a legendary F1 figure.

Until his death in 2021, Mansour Ogier reigned supreme in the world of F1 as a co-owner of McLaren. During this time, McLaren not only won seven constructors’ championships and ten drivers’ championships, but also achieved great success in the road car business, going beyond motorsport. He made a major contribution to the establishment of McLaren Automotive and the McLaren Applied Technologies division.

With McLaren Automotive now fully producing its Super Sports cars, Mansour Ogier has expanded his McLaren road car collection, with the pinnacle of his collection being the McLaren F1, which is painted in a special “Yquem” exterior color.

To reflect the car’s rarity, McLaren later renamed the color “Mansour Orange,” making it a custom color exclusively for his cars.

A collection kept almost unused

With the exception of the McLaren F1 and P1 GTR, all models are in mint condition, making this a rare collection.

Mansour Ogier requested a final chassis number for each model, ensuring that all technical changes made during the production cycle were reflected in the vehicles. With the exception of the McLaren F1 (which has logged just 1,810km) and the P1 GTR (used exclusively for McLaren track days), all cars remain unused, i.e., in factory-original condition, and have been thoroughly maintained under the direct supervision of McLaren Automotive.

The collection includes many iconic McLaren models, including the limited-production Speedtail, P1, Senna, Elva and Sabre. Cathy Ogier, wife of Mansour Ogier, commented on the sale of the collection:

“McLaren was truly special to Mansour. It was more than just a business; it was a pure passion, and out of that passion came this unique collection of McLaren road cars. This collection is a family treasure. He saw them specified by him, and it’s a testament to that time.”

“It is never easy to part with this highly personal collection, and we believe the time is now right to pass it on to a new owner who will truly appreciate it, own it and care for it as dearly as Mansour did. We are extremely grateful to Tom Hartley Jr. for providing us with a sophisticated framework for selling this collection.”
